It's for the Birds... Blog hop!

It's my day for it's for the birds Blog hop and I am very excited to be sharing. This is my first blog hop with Mdm Samm, so I have had to follow along closely all week, to see how it was done...
I have to say there have been some great projects this past week and I am very impressed with the talents of all the participants. Thank you Mdm Samm and Cheerleader Mary for all of the work you have put into this hop. Its been a great experience and I hope I can do it again!

I have several projects around the house, with birds and had a really hard time deciding what I would make for this project.  I thought I would make another door hanger like the one above or this wallhanging...

But decided to go with something entirely different.

Every morning, this time of year, I am awakened very early by the sounds of the birds chirping in my backyard. I can't see them but I hear them. So I decided to make this little window topper for my bedroom, to  give me a visual to go along with the chirping!

I think it is pretty busy, but if you could hear the sounds I hear in the morning, I think you would think it suits. ( That's my beautiful Yellow Maple you can see out the window!

The birds, leaves and flowers are all raw edge appliqué, something really new to me. I almost didn't finish it because it was such a challenge to do all the stitching on it, but I did and I have a new appreciation for anyone who does beautiful art pieces using this technique. It was hard work!

Thanks for visiting. I hope you will hop off to see some of the other great bloggers today...

Beautiful window dressing. Don't you love listening to the birds in the morning? We've had a mockingbird who occasionally sings his playlist during the night. He wakes me up and sings me back to sleep. I love it,

Beautiful birdie projects and I especially love that window topper. What a great idea. I have never seen a yellow maple (except in the fall). Does it have yellow leaves in the summer too?

All the projects you shared were very cute. Loved the valance you made for the bedroom window. At this time of year, as the birds wake in the morning, the chirping can almost be called "a din"!! :)
